I would like to invite you to Trends in Contemporary
Pottery, the exhibition now on view at the North Georgia College & State
University's Bob Owens Art Gallery. The show will be open through February 5.
The exhibition features the work of Jeff (J.B.) Bishoff,
Jerry Chappelle, Katie McFarland, Don Penny, Geoff Pickett, DeWitt Smith, Carol
Van Sant, and Joshua Winterhawk. The 78 pieces in the show were selected by
each artist as signature representations of his or her style. This year's
contribution to NGCSU's celebration of art from Southern Appalachia, the work
of the artists in Trends in Contemporary Pottery both carry on traditions of
pottery making from the region and demonstrate the innovative techniques and
new directions in clay art today.
The exhibition and reception are free and open to the
public. Hours are Monday - Saturday, 9 am to 7 pm, and Sunday, 3 to 6 pm. For
