Fall is finally here! It's been an amazing year, and so much has changed. The most common comment we're hearing these days is "Wow, you've moved a few things!" and we sure have! We've added artists' studios, classes, workshops, and have so much more planned, starting this weekend!
THIS WEEKEND
Friday evening, Emerald Rose, a rocking Celtic band from North Georgia will be performing in Hancock Park for the last First Friday Night Concert of the year. Saturday afternoon, we'd like to invite you to a reception for the North Georgia Photography Experiment. We're honored to be featuring the works of Doug and Peggy King, Jack Anthony, and Michael Cottrell on stage at the gallery, and the reception will be from 1-3 Saturday afternoon. You can find out more about the NGPE on Facebook by searching for "North Georgia Photography Experiment." Jennifer Julian and the photographers have done a great job making this event a successful and growing annual event, and you won't want to miss this show!
Of course The Frog Hollow Company will be here! Kenny and Cindy will be hosting their Sunday Model event on Saturday and Sunday. Every Sunday they have free photo sessions for folks, with fun themes and great photos.
Afterwards, you're invited to Naturally Georgia's and Bleu Gallery's open house, just a couple doors down from us and home of Todd Strickland's studio. Todd and I will be there, along with many of our friends!
I'm very happy to report that we're on the upside of the economic challenges we've been facing. I've written to you about how the artists have been so creative during these times, and today the story is still true. We're seeing such beautiful inspiration, and every piece in this gallery is reflective of how the heart of the artist has felt during these times. What is amazing to me is the number of ways we've all found to make it through, and how much closer we've all become. We're planning, scheming and plotting all the time.
UPCOMING EVENTS
We have another new addition in the gallery. Commercial artist, Jon Dahlstrom, has joined us, and he has all sorts of fun things planned. His first adventure with us will be weekly kite-building workshops every Saturday from 3-6. In addition to this fun activity, he is also going to be directing the first play at the Hummingbird Theater (our stage), "The Girl Who Walks With Music." Jon won the play writing contest at Sautee Nacoochee earlier this year, and we're so excited to welcome him to Hummingbird Lane! I'll send you more information on this when the dates are published!
We're excited for the holiday season this year, and I hope you'll find it in your heart to come up and support us, and enjoy the wonderful artwork, artists, workshops, classes and events that we're planning for you!!! Be sure to keep an eye on our website, as I'm adding them as quickly as we plan them.

After warming up with contour and gesture drawing, we will study negative space, dynamic perspective, tonal values, core shapes, and learn how to make our drawings ‘pop' off the page! Then, with the knowledge of the master artist, each student will create a piece of art that utilizes the style of each master. The True Art of Collage
Class Fee: $90/6 weeks + Most materials supplied, some provided by student .
This class will take an individual through the process of transforming their "scrapbook" approach to art to a more refined fine art in a non-threating environment. This class is for the person who might be intimidated by the process, who might describe themselves as "non-artistic", and who wants to try something new. With a few basic new skills they can make exquiste pieces of art using various objects such as family photos, to memorialize events. This would be a class that might also interest scrapbookers, who want to take their art to the next level. Each week students will learn a new skill that can be applied to their work, such as stamp creating, transferring and drawing skills. Class size limited to 10.
