This past weekend Hummingbird Lane presented the work of Todd Strickland. Here is a recap of the show and some photos we wanted to share.
Last Saturday night on Feb 7, 2009 I had my first "solo" art show at the gallery.
The theme of this show was "Sweethearts", first because the show was conceived, set up and marketed by MY very own Sweetheart, Amy, and second because the majority of my paintings were of women (most of which were inspired by or are representative of Amy in some way)…..plus it IS the Valentine season so what better theme than "Sweethearts".
The public response was great as many people joined us for delicious treats provided by Tony Owens, owner of the Fudge Factory. Vickie Cooper, of Bleu Gallery and Naturally Georgia was also offering wine tastings from Tiger Mountain Vineyards.
Local DJ Phil Yazzie provided the night's music. The contemporary styles of music he played complimented the artwork as well as the overall ambiance of the entire gallery. I would like to thank them all for their contribution to what was a perfect evening for me!
The "Sweethearts" show will run thru March 15 at Hummingbird Lane Art Gallery, 100 N. Public Square, Dahlonega, GA.
Amy, thanks so much for the hard work, and attention to every detail that went into making this such a wonderful experience for me, and thanks to all who attended the opening reception. Thanks also to everyone for coming and making this such a memorable event for all of us!
